The ANSR Care Kit
The ANSR Care Kit
As the cases of COVID19 increase, so does the incidence of domestic violence. Now, abuse victims are in a worst-case scenario, where even those fortunate enough to find a spot at an emergency abuse shelter are in a precarious position because shelters require communal living.
These women, their children and shelter staff are constantly exposed to one another. Though shelters across our state are working hard to implement every safety precaution they can, these women cannot self-isolate. If one person becomes sick, what then?
We at ANSR mobilized as quickly as possible to support our shelters. With the incredible help of our friends at Big Spirit, who work directly with manufacturers, we have been able to secure the protective items shelters need most: hand sanitizer, wipes, tissues and gloves.
These items come in zip-sealed personal packs, made easy for each shelter to distribute. We need your help to ensure every shelter gets enough.
We’re asking for a $5 donation to help us cover just a portion of the cost of every kit. This is not a fundraising effort. This is an ask of our community, at a critical time, to give whatever each of you can to help us keep our safe shelters safe.
Your $5 donation provides one woman, child or shelter worker an ANSR COVID19 Care Kit.
OUR GOAL
Women’s Advocates, the first shelter in our nation, needs 50 kits now.
Tubman, Minnesota’s largest shelter service, needs 100 kits now.
Sojourner, the only emergency abuse shelter in the West Metro, needs 40 kits now.
And we’d like to provide assistance to all the smaller abuse shelters in state, as well. Thank you for your help.
